Rug Cleaning Process

First, each rug is carefully inspected for any apparent special conditions prior to cleaning. We then provide you with an estimate and request a work authorization. With written documentation, the rug is tagged, cleaned, an invoice accordingly.
advanced restorations will draw from the techniques listed below depending on the particular fibers, dies, soils and construction of the rug.

Air Dusting is the safest pre-cleaning process for rugs. It uses powerful but soft compressed air to completely eliminate any dry soil in your rugs. A submersion wash combined with a disinfectant bath makes this a healthy cleaning. The compression wringer action assures that all cleaning agents and soils are purged. Our Jacuzzi like air/rinse system cleans your rugs so thoroughly you can even drink the rinse water after we are finished. Our controled drying environment allows for speed and efficiency to protect the rugs in process. Post detailing and fringes are then addressed as the finishing touches.

Oriental Rug Cleaning and Persian Rug Washing

Advanced Restorations uses the world renowned Auserehlian Cleaning system. Authentic and washing and compressed air cleaning for fine textiles.

    1. Pre-inspection- after inspecting the road for any apparent special conditions we will ask for the customer's work authorization. With written documentation your rug will be tagged, cleaned, and invoice accordingly.

    2. Dust- dry particulate soil evacuation, using the power of compressed air, is our safe and thorough method of precleaning rugs. First, the rug is beaten (much like Grandmother used to do) with a special machine. This loosens surface dust from the fibres in the rug. Next, a wand tool is used to force compressed air through the rug. This removes embedded dust from the rug, which a household vaccuum cleaner cannot do.

    3. Wash- an expert hand washing in a submersion bath assures you that a complete cleaning is being performed. The rug is fully saturated with fresh water. Next, a wool safe cleaning agent is applied directly to the rug. Our specialized rug cleaning machines gently scrub the fibres and remove dirt and grime. The further use of compressed air, underwater, assists with a Jacuzzi effect for gentle agitation.

    4. Decontamination Bath- odor sources and contamination such as urine, mold, mildew, or insect infestations dictate the use of the appropriate treatments and procedures. All natural fibers require decontamination for their protection and preservation.

    5. Rinse- complete washing away of both soils and cleaning agents allows us to achieve drinkable rinse water conditions. The knapp is brushed to ensure softness as it dries. Any fringe on the rug is also brushed out during rinsing.

    9. ULTI-MAT underlayment- this area rug pad as the dual-purpose to perform on both hard surface floors or on top of carpeting. Padding will protect both your rug and your floor and it is a good investment for personal safety.
